Toddler Time

I’ve been wanting to write for a few days now, but Jeff has been gone three of the four last days and for some reason, Macy doesn’t want to just sit still and watch me blog.  Very strange.

After spending so much time with a toddler, I’ve got a few questions I’d like to ask all you moms/dads out there –

Do ALL toddlers have an attention span that lasts about 3 seconds?

Is it just Macy or are toddlers only really happy if they are running, climbing, jumping?

When you pull out a new toy/puzzle/thing that you’ve been saving for a special occasion (i.e. Daddy’s not home and you’re trying to fill the afternoon), does your toddler sometimes just glance at it and not seem particularly impressed?

But on the flip side, does your toddler find all kinds of joy in things that are not toys – the random set of Uno cards you’re not sure of their origin, a board game, the magnets on the fridge?

Anyway, I’m sure these things are not just Macy-true.  At least I hope not.

All this to say, I’ve been wondering if it would be easier if baby #2 will just stay in a little longer.  At least until Macy is like…in school.  🙂

  1. hahahaha! don’t have an answer for you… but i certainly liked your conclusion. totally remembering that feeling myself!
and don’t forget to remind yourself, the joy will be in seeing them together… and ultimately that they’ll have each other!
hang in there. and enjoy this time with macy.
    (((hugs)))

  2. I’ve got 4 kids and attention spans are different based on the kids. One of mine liked to sit and look at books for long periods of time at age 2 but another one would have nothing to do with them – except maybe tear them into pieces. I think the chances of your next little one being like Macy are slim. Otherwise it would be too easy to be a parent!
