In a lot of ways, this has felt like Macy’s first Christmas just because it’s the first Christmas that she’s understood what’s going on around her. Getting to talk to her about why Christmas is so important and celebrating the birth of Jesus has made this Christmas really special. I’m also feeling a little nostalgic as I realize that we’re spending our last days as a family of three. I know Macy’s life will never be the same once baby girl #2 enters this world…but I think it will be for the better.
We woke up semi-early on Christmas morning and Macy got to open up her stocking first.
So excited to get a little Piglet stuffed animal. There are some things about the two-year-old stage I do not love, but I do love how easy they are to please. She was so excited about that Piglet she carried it around all day.
New Mickey Mouse coloring book
Opening one present with Daddy
Two new books…Charlie Brown and Toy Story!
The four of us
After church and lunch out, we came back to finish opening a few gifts.
We saved the big pink one for last…Macy was the most excited about the “pink” present
A brand new set of real Legos! Cheese!
Let’s play! Daddy and Macy start working on the pink Lego house. Hard to tell who was more excited about the Lego set – Macy or Daddy.
After nap, we ate a quick snack and made our way to our friend’s house. They have a three-year-old and a one-year-old and Macy was in heaven playing with their son and eating pancakes for dinner.
And before we knew it, it was already time for bed. Time flies, especially on Christmas.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
